Stepin’ into Spring

Saturdays May 16th

10 am - 12 pm

Axe & Awl Leatherworks

41 Depot St, Waynesville, NC

If you’re in the market for some leather goods but are pinching pennies this event is for you! Join us for a delightful celebration of the season at the Steppin Into Spring outdoor festival! Immerse yourself in the beauty of springtime as we bring together live music, food, and the creativity of local makers. This outdoor extravaganza promises a day filled with joy, laughter, and a vibrant community spirit.

This is the only time of the year that you can purchase leather scraps in bulk and what we call “seconds” of our leather goods. We are talking bags that were shorted a stitch, belts that the stitch groove may have had a beer or two and radio straps that names were misspelled.

Don’t miss the Steppin Into Spring outdoor festival!

A new life for old fabrics

Rather than buying all new materials, I find quilts, blankets, and tea towels, and give them a new purpose. Making an article of clothing has many steps, and this allows me to appreciate where this cloth comes from, and ultimately what it will become.
